When I started my dog training business, I had no clients, no fancy setup — just passion, grit, and a deep belief that dogs (and their owners) deserved better. I was a FIFO wife, a mum of two young boys, and building from the ground up while juggling family, long nights, the biggest dog rescue in Australia and a vision that wouldn’t leave me alone.
Fast forward five years, and that vision became a multi-million-dollar facility: a full team of over 20 staff, 23 acres of space, and hundreds of dogs moving through structured programs every month.
In the first three years alone, we grew to over a million dollars in revenue — not because of luck, but because of strategy. Smart marketing, client research, and building an unforgettable client experience that turned customers into advocates.

THE WHY BEHIND THE MENTOR
Where it all began
When I was 18, I lost my dad suddenly — and the only way I knew how to cope was to put that pain somewhere good. I started a dog rescue. No idea, no property. No kennels. Just heart, grit, and a love for helping dogs who’d been forgotten.
Somehow, people started paying attention. Before “personal brand” was even a thing, there was just me — sharing raw stories, messy days, long nights, long drives, wins and losses — and people connected with it. They didn’t just follow the rescue; they believed in what we were building.
From zero followers to the largest dog rescue in South Australia — over 40,000 on Facebook and 18,000 on Instagram — the community grew because the mission was real. We rescued, rehabilitated and rehoused over 2000 dogs!
We went through heartbreak, exhaustion, even a bushfire that took everything we owned. But not even that killed my spirit.
And now, through my Business Mentorship, that mission continues.
Take the Lead was born from that same fire — a love for dogs, a belief that structure and understanding can save them, and a desire to help owners become their dogs’ best chance at staying out of shelters for good.
